GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF ODISHA
Odisha is situated in India\’s eastern region. It is one of the twenty-eight states of India. It is the eight largest State by land and the eleventh most populous state in India. It shares borders with West Bengal and Jharkhand to the north, Chhattisgarh to the west, Andhra Pradesh to the south, and a narrow touch border with Telangana to the southwest. Odisha has a coastline of 485 km along the Bay of Bengal to the east.
Odishα region is also known as Utkala. Bhubaneswar is the capital of the state.
The world famous Chilika Lake, a brackish water lagoon, is situated in Odishα.
Odia is the most widely spoken language in the state and also the official language of the state. It is rich in natural minerals such as coal, iron ore, bauxite and chromite. Odishα has a huge potential to attract tourists. There are so many tourist places such as Lingaraja temple, Jagannath temple, Konark Sun temple, Chilik lake and many more.
The origin of the famous Rasagola sweet is Odishα.
At present, Naveen Patnaik is the Chief Minister of the state.
