GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF LAKSHADWEEP
Lakshadweep is situated in the Arabian Sea. It is one of the eight union territories of India. It is the smallest union territory of India by land and the least populous union territory of India by population.
Kavaratti is the capital of the union territory. Lαkshadweep consists of 36 islands. Of the 36 islands, only 11 are inhabited. All the islands lie scattered in the Arabian Sea. Coconut is the only crop that is economically important in Lαkshadweep. Cheriyam, Suheli, Valiyakara and Tinakara are the main tourist places in Lαkshadweep.
