GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF TAMIL NADU
Tamil Nadu is situated in India\’s southern region. It is one of the twenty-eight states of India. It is the tenth largest Indian state by land and the sixth most populous state in India. It shares borders with Kerala to the west, Karnataka to the northwest, Andhra Pradesh to the north, Bay of Bengal to the east, Indian Ocean to the south and encircles the union territory of Puducherry. It also shares a maritime border with Sri Lanka to the east.
It has the country\’s third-longest coastline at about 906.9 km. Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, \”Father of the Indian Green Revolution\”, was from Tamil Nadu. The most widely spoken language is Tamil in the state and also the official language of the state. Pongal is the chief festival of the state. Bharatanatyam, the sophisticated classical dance form of the state.
Chennai is the capital of the state. Tamil Nadu has huge potential in the tourism industry. There are so many famous sites to visit for tourists such as Mamallapuram, Poompuhar, Pichawaram, Anamalai Sanctuary, Mudumalai Sanctuary and many more places.
At present, M.K. Stalin is the Chief Minister of the state.
