GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF KERALA
Kerala is situated in India\’s southern region. Kerala is one of the twenty-eight states of India. It is the twenty-one largest State by land and the thirteen most populous state in India. Kerala shares borders with Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and Lakshadweep Sea to the west. Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of state.
Kerαla has the highest literacy rate and also the highest sex ratio in India. In the production of pepper and natural rubber, Kerαla contributes significantly to the total national output. In the agricultural sector, Kerαla also produces coconut, tea, coffee, cashew and spices. Malayalam is the most widely spoken language in Kerαla. Kerαla is situated between the Arabian Sea to the west and the Western Ghats Mountain ranges to the east. Kochi (Cochin) is the major port of Kerαla. It is known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea.
Kalady in Ernakulam district is the birthplace of Shri Adi Shankaracharya. He was a religious philosopher who contributed to Hinduism and established four mathas at Sringeri, Dwarka, Puri, and Jyotirmath.
At present, Pinarayi Vijayan is the Chief Minister of Kerala state.
